Operation Christmas Child
Mark Your Calendars for the 2018 Operation Christmas Child Packing Party!
Operation Christmas Child is a year around effort to provide shoe boxes filled with gifts to children in need around the world. Our annual Packing Party will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018.
Here are some ideas for donations to fill our shoe boxes:
socks, sunglasses, t-shirts, pencils, notebooks, crayons, solar power calculators, cars & trucks, stuffed animals, stickers, Yo-Yo, baseball & mitt, jump rope, comb, washcloth, toothbrush, hairbrush, playing cards, and anything else kids like that is small enough to fit into a shoe box.
We are currently collecting items for our packing party. Drop off your OCC donations next time you are at church to help us prepare for the November Packing Party.
Through out the year, we have various opportunities for adults wanting to further their relationship with the good news of Jesus Christ. Class opportunities will be posted in the announcements and the weekly email, 'Flocking to Shepherd'.
Current Learning Opportunities:
Adult Class - Check back for future Adult Education opportunities.
Women's Bible Study - Join Annette VanZeyl on the 1st and 3rd Saturday each month at 8:00 am in Luther Hall.
Stitch 'N Tie
Do you enjoy sewing and quilting? This group meets each month to make beautiful quilts to be sent out through Lutheran World Relief to those in need. The annual Bags & More sale sponsored by the Stitch 'N Tie group is held annually in the fall. All funds raised at this event help with the cost of materials to make the quilts and to then ship them around the world. You can join this group in Luther Hall on the third Monday of the month at 9:00 am.
Those who enjoy knitting and crocheting will enjoy the fellowship of this group. The Angel Ministry knit and crochet items for the church such as prayer shawls and baby blankets. You can join them at 9:30 am in Holy Grounds on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month.
